CHARACTER SERIES: A little game called Undertale, you've probably never heard of it.

Backtagging: Yes.
Threadhopping: OH YEAH!
Fourthwalling: Hmm. No for now, although the whole 'it's a game???' could be hilarious. The Player is technically a character after all.
Offensive subjects: Not really an offensive subject per se, but shipping isn't really my thing, and even if Chisk evolved Pokemon style into the aged up Charisk I'd be uncomfortable with roleplaying that.

Hugging this character: Sure! They will be very uncomfortable, esp if you are human.
Kissing this character: Bear in mind Chisk is a kid. Two kids. Two kids in a metaphysical trenchcoat trying to get into the movies but failing because their ages average rather than stack and it's all very sad.
Flirting with this character: About as much as happens in canon, which is to say, played as a joke. See above.
Fighting with this character: Sure. People try to kill Chisk all the time. That's also kind of sad now I think about it.
Injuring this character (including limits and severity): Injuring to any degree is fine, although stuff like cold blooded torture might be going too far so ask first about that please. Again, people try to kill Chisk all the time, it's terrible.
Killing this character: Probably should talk about this one, but given they can SAVE and LOAD to come back if necessary, should be okay.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Go ahead! Chisk's internal monologue is pretty well tuned to All Screaming, All The Time FM, Glitch edition, but if you want to listen there's nothing they can do to stop you.
Warnings: So both Frisk and Chara have... less than happy backstories. There's hints of parental abandonment, abuse both physical and emotional and self harm, possible suicide, definite suicide, the horror that is buttercup poisoning and extreme self loathing, and those things have the potential to come up with regards to Chisk, so let me know if you don't want them. Also they have the ability to futz with time so lemme know if you don't want that to happen, although I'll tend to ask beforehand anyway.
Also they are at least three quarters spoilers, so let me know if you don't want any. They haven't experienced the endgames of two of the runs so those'll probably not come up.
